Fresh air, baby birds & spiders

A bit of a learning curve for me today - been spending most of the

day away from my workroom !! a bit of a change and trying to build a nice new website with some new software - although its nice and sunny out so been taking breaks to weed the garden borders, found a robins nest with two baby robins... well Percy the dog did (I had to send him in) and while digging saw plenty of mother spiders, carrying their pure white egg balls to safety away from my weeding efforts.

Between then and now I have registered my makers mark with the Assay office in London, very excited to receive my silver pieces back, all beautifully Hallmarked as 99.9% fine silver, along with my registered Makers Mark. SG

Getting Organised ... again !!!

I love a bargain - found loads of lovely old rustic pots in a charity shop, ideal for brushes, tools, paint and water, they are gonna look great on my work table and I'll always be organised now - never again will I lose another pair of tweezers or pliers that I just had in my hand a moment ago .... yeah right !!!

I have been experimenting with etching copper today - I am really pleased with these and can see me doing loads more 
The etchings .... Some heating and hammering required to shape the pendants ...but I love the etchings !!

For Beltane

My three latest pieces in the greenware stage 'the spirit of the tree' for Beltane..each one a tiny bit different...each one with a tiny mischievous tree spirit, now to think of impish names for them !

Brand New venture

welcome to my new blog,  Well I have given up my full time 15 year office job to be an artist, I have said goodbye to the 9-5, the train commute, the corporate speak and the dress code my colleagues are sad to see me go, but some of them have already become my first customers and they will always be friends. I am experimenting with many things mostly silver clay, I'm loving being inspired by the leaves and nature around me, some little leaves in thier green ware stage and after firing they are now fine silver 

 Trying many different things at the moment, sculpting with metal clay, using Fimo polyclay, a bit of needlefelting  - this is the inspiration laid out

So here is my little blog, mainly to keep a record of my developing art jut because its always cool to look back and think 'wow look how far I have come!'  and if any body wants to come along with me and watch and read then that would be ace too.
